Craft Markets take place on the first Saturday of every month, with additional events during holidays and the festive season. Every Saturday morning, the smaller Forest Fare is lovely, with freshly baked bread, vegetables, preserves, smoked meats, homemade treats, and quality second-hand books to browse. The market’s beautiful forest setting, live music, and welcoming vibe make it a wonderful place to visit.

There’s also a 700m trail starting at the giant Yellowwood tree at the end of the Campsite. The walk takes you past a fairy grotto to a ‘wishing fig tree,’ where you can sit inside the trunk and make a wish, before returning along the path past the swamp. The safe, easy trail is ideal for everyone, especially families with young children.

7. The Pink Lady Cafe

The Pink Lady Café in Morgan Bay is a must-visit. Located on the edge of town, this small coffee shop has great views of the hills and is beautifully decorated in pink. Tip #1: Morgan Bay’s official tourism website notes that fishing licenses can be hard to find. They recommend getting a license at St. Anthony’s Store, which is 31km from Morgan Bay, located on the main tar road between the N2 and Morgan Bay, just opposite the Haga Haga turnoff.

Tip #2: Local shops have a limited selection of bait and tackle, so make sure you bring enough. Alternatively, you can also get bait at the SaveMor in Kei Mouth. For fishing tackle, your best bet is probably Kei Mouth SaveMor or Kei Mouth Hardware.
